David Hummelen's work (1986) examines the visual properties and qualities of materials, in particular transparent and translucent materials such as wax, plastics, water, gelatin and glass. He processes and models these materials in various forms and combines them into compositions. Fascinated by the interaction between light, material, form and color, he plays with different gradations, reflections and saturations in search of an interesting and catchy image.
David Hummelen graduated in 2008 from the Graphic Lyceum Utrecht and in 2015 from the Design Acedemy Eindhoven.
