On Sunday, March 23, we will open the solo exhibition PHENOMENA by Paul Smulders.
'Phenomena’ is the plural of the Greek word ‘Phainomenon’, meaning that which is visible, observable, or a phenomenon.
In Paul Smulders' new series of paintings, the title Phenomena refers to the painter's working method, in which he -initially- lets various paints, inks and lacquers interact to form chaotic abstract patterns. Smulders does not avoid imposing an order on his material, but he gives his material as much space as possible to be a decisive factor in the final compositions.
Especially for this opening, Albert Gast will be present to inaugurate the exhibition. Albert Gast is an art enthusiast and expert on Paul Smulders' work. In addition, he is a designer and scientific researcher with a focus on changes and societal issues within organizations.
