From Sunday the 24th of June you van visit the new exposition The Other Side from Ronald A. Westerhuis at Project 2.0 / Gallery.
The Other Side forms a duo exposition with the exposition Size Does Matter in Museum de Fundatie. You can visit this exposition from the 16th of June until the 2th of September. It shows a large overview of Westerhuis’ oeuvre.
From his abstract method Westerhuis started an investigation into minimal forms. This resulted, among other things, in combining stainless steel with color. He experiments with form and material, without loading his artworks with a certain meaning. His starting point is universal forms and from there he hopes each will relate to the artwork in his own way.
Westerhuis is known for his stainless steel bulbs and wall sculptures. His recent artworks are Lines; sculptural linear wall objects. They contain color which changes as you walk by. Lines literally form another side of his oeuvre. They give a dynamic effect, like with the ‘skin’ of the stainless steel artworks. By using shining polished stainless steel and shining surfaces the artwork always reflects its surrounding and viewer. It shows another reality.
